As my horse trotted wearily up the road, I could see the walls of a beautiful garden ahead. Outside the gate was an equally beautiful woman. At the sound of my greeting, she turned and dropped a curtsey. “Good sir…good morning.”

I looked at her, and then at the garden walls extending out to the right and left. Behind her was the garden gate.

I said, “I am very thirsty… for something clean.”

She smiled, and her smile made me thirstier still. But she said nothing.

“Is there water here?” I asked.

“There is a stream within my garden.” Her statement was simply a statement of fact; there was no invitation at all in it.

I asked, “May I come in and drink?”

“No,” she said. “The lord of my mother’s garden does not permit that.”

“Why is this? Other women have let me drink from the gardens that they tend.” I glanced at the fruit-laden branches which were visible over the top of the garden wall. “You have a lovely garden, but those who let me drink had gardens just as beautiful.”

She laughed at this, and her laugh was merry indeed.

“I have no doubt that you have been in some lovely gardens. But was the water clean?”

“No,” I said, and in spite of myself, turned my head and looked down. She continued with a question. “Is that why you are no longer in the gardens tended by these women?”

I was ashamed so I did not answer her. Instead I looked past her into the garden. The path through the gate disappeared after a few feet, leaving the view of anyone on the road.

“It seems like a shame for such a garden to go to waste.”

She seemed both puzzled and amused. “How does it go to waste?”

“Does any man drink from your stream?”

“No, but no man fouls it either.”

“But isn’t that not a waste? Was not your stream made to quench the thirst of travelers?”

“I’m afraid you are seriously mistaken. It was made to quench the thirst, not of travelers, but of the lord of the garden.”

“Oh,” I said, “This garden has a lord?”

“No,” she said.

“Then I don’t understand. Are you speaking in riddles?”

“She smiled. “No, I am not. The garden will one day have a lord, although it does not yet. The stream is for him alone.”

“And who will your lord be?”

“When my mother’s lord gives a blessing, the one whom I appoint.”

“How can the lesser appoint the greater?”

“How can it be so? When my lord comes, I will grant to him my garden. But until I do, he is just another traveler.”

“And what do you look for? I am sure there are many who knock at your gate.”

At this she blushed slightly but looked straight at me. “I will not have a lord who does not have a lord himself – my lord must have taken an oath of fealty to the Landlord.”

“The Landlord? Who is He?”

“He is the owner of all the gardens along this road. In order to come into my garden, my lord must take an oath before the Landlord to tend the garden well. He must also swear that he will enter no other garden.”

I had never heard such words as these before. “How long must he stay out of other gardens?”

“Forever.”

“But what if he is born to travel?”

“Then he is not born for my garden.”

“I see,” I said, becoming a little angry. “Then why have I never heard of such an oath? I have been in many gardens.”

“Yes, you said that before. But was the water clean? Were the gardens tended? That is what happens when there is no oath.”

“So that is all? If someone takes an oath before the Landlord, you will make him your lord?”

“No.”

“Well, what else then?”

“There are many men who think they can tend my garden well, and who would be willing to swear an oath before the Landlord saying so. But that does not mean that my mother’s lord, or I, share their confidence.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean that I know the extent of the garden. I have a knowledge of it that cannot be gained from the road. But no man can share that knowledge until after I have made him my lord and husband. So I must have the measure of the man before.”

“So what must a man do? It seems like much work.”

She smiled once again. “There is much work. There is also much fruit.”

“So what must a man do?”

“The first thing is to – “

“Yes, I know. He must swear to the Landlord. But after?”

“He must return to me, and ask to see my mother’s lord.”

“And what would he say?”

“That depends on the man.” At this parting comment, she turned and walked slowly back in to the garden, pulling the gate closed behind her. I spurred my horse, which began to trot down the road. I did not know what to think, but I needed to find this Landlord.

Assignment

2008 is a NEW year. For me and for everyone else.

I started the first few hours of 2008 in prayer and received revelations from the Lord. One of these revelations, which became clearer to me as the days passed, was my assigment to encourage and pray for young men, beginning with the four teenagers in my congregation the Lord showed me while in prayer.

In the weeks that followed since that commission, God has been giving me prophetic words for the Four and He’s been showing me who they are in the Spirit. One of the things the Lord told me about them is that they are great men of God. I really believe the Lord is leading me to guide these young men and just cover them in prayer. It’s not an easy task.

As I continue to entrust them to the Lord, He keeps giving me nuggets about each young man’s spiritual identity. God would give me words like “integrity“, “obedience“, “victorious” and “intensity” to describe each of the Four. I get the feeling that I’m unequal to the task but I guess that’s a good thing — it proves that this is not me and that this is a God thing.

I also believe that I am to reinforce and remind these guys of their spiritual identities. Aside from including them in my prayers, the Lord has also given me prophetic words for them through poetry.

This is something that really is new to me and I am in over my head on this one. But I have heard the call to “watch over” these guys for this season and I know that since it was God who called, He will be the one to enable.

“Father, use me to bless the Four. I am a vessel of Your grace and You know what is best. Lead me and use me, Holy Spirit, in this assignment.”

Proverbs 3:5-7 [The Remix]

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
[Worry not when the waiting starts]

And lean not on your own understanding
[Please try not to be so demanding]

In all your ways acknowledge Him
[He may not give in to your every whim]

And He will make your paths straight
[If you don't stray while still in the wait]

Do not be wise in your own eyes
[Don't look around for any other prize]

Raise Your Voice

My friend Edsel and I were leading worship the other night during our discipleship class and there the Lord wonderfully ministered to the students. Our instructor didn’t show up so we were able to use the worship time to soak in the presence of God.

As the worship flowed, I felt the Spirit lead me to encourage my fellow students to raise their voice in praise to our God. The Lord put these words in my mouth: “If you are struggling, raise your voice to God in worship! If you have worries and problems, raise your voice to God in worship! If you have mountains standing before you, giants in your way, raise your voice to God in worship! Praise Him with your voice because it is your weapon of warfare!”

Then I remembered what my worship pastor and some of the ministers in my church said about the power of our words. We can use our voice to declare victories in our lives, to render the enemy powerless with the word of our testimony and to pull down strongholds by declaring the Lordship of Jesus.

Just as God’s Word has power to create the universe and everything in it, our words have power too. As creations made in the image of God, He has given us the same creative power of the spoken word. The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21 that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.”

There is so much a declaration of faith can do in the spiritual. Our voices raised in faith can mean death to strongholds and principalities, bring an end to struggles and striving, break bondages and set us free. Our voices raised in worship can bring life to a dry and dying spirit, bring healing to the sick, usher in breakthroughs in all areas in our lives.

The Lord has been showing me and teaching me since last year that my voice, my declarations, my worship are strong weapons of spiritual warfare. And from Salome, my worship pastor, I have learned to raise up a shout and war in worship with my voice.

As worshippers of the Living God, we must learn to use our voice to speak life to one another and to the lost. We must learn to speak God’s powerful words into our circumstances and declare His will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

There is so much power in our tongue, in our words. When we pray and when we worship God with raised voices, demons tremble, cloudless skies break, kings and queens shake and circumstances bow down to Him.

Don’t stay silent. Raise your voice and praise the Almighty God, and see how much power can be released in your life.

Building Up the Living Stones

Our focus should be to continually build up people, and not ministries.
. . .
As we build together, dear ones, some stones may seem insignificant, but it’s so very crucial not to despise even one small stone. For, “Your beginnings will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be” Job 8:7. Let’s keep in mind, “The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world.” In other words, we must nurture and edify every one of the Father’s children as they grow up to be kings, presidents, justices and queens.
. . .
The army of God has been in quite a season of realignment. Some have been obediently deported several times, some resisted, and others have gone AWOL. Many have moved from the tail to the head. Now, we are entering into a season with synchronized marching coming forth.
. . .
Every gift in the Body is necessary and all are about to increase and soar–as they are uncovered. It is time, friends. We must rebuild the temples–the people of God! Each person bears relevant gifts within them from birth, for the Creator lives in us! Sadly, some virtues can be stifled early on, perhaps as soon as we can hold a crayon and someone says, “Now, stay in the lines.”
. . .
May we be like our Savior, ready and willing to identify, bless, and release what the Father has given within our own spheres of influence. May we come up from underneath, undergirding the stones, giving strong support, remembering that foundations are not seen.
. . .

excerpts from the prophetic word released by Paulette Reed on the Elijah List website.

Awake, o Sleeper

1 “Shout it aloud, do not hold back.

Raise your voice like a trumpet.

Declare to my people their rebellion

and to the house of Jacob their sins.

2 For day after day they seek me out;

they seem eager to know my ways,

as if they were a nation that does what is right

and has not forsaken the commands of its God.

They ask me for just decisions

and seem eager for God to come near them.

3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say,

‘and you have not seen it?

Why have we humbled ourselves,

and you have not noticed?’

“Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please

and exploit all your workers.

4 Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife,

and in striking each other with wicked fists.

You cannot fast as you do today

and expect your voice to be heard on high.

5 Is this the kind of fast I have chosen,

only a day for a man to humble himself?

Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed

and for lying on sackcloth and ashes?

Is that what you call a fast,

a day acceptable to the LORD ?

6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:

to loose the chains of injustice

and untie the cords of the yoke,

to set the oppressed free

and break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry

and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—

when you see the naked, to clothe him,

and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,

and your healing will quickly appear;

then your righteousness [a] will go before you,

and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;

you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,

with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry

and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,

then your light will rise in the darkness,

and your night will become like the noonday.

11 The LORD will guide you always;

he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land

and will strengthen your frame.

You will be like a well-watered garden,

like a spring whose waters never fail.

12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins

and will raise up the age-old foundations;

you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,

Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

13 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath

and from doing as you please on my holy day,

if you call the Sabbath a delight

and the LORD’s holy day honorable,

and if you honor it by not going your own way

and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,

14 then you will find your joy in the LORD,

and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land

and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”

The mouth of the LORD has spoken.

Psalm 23 [This is the Remix]

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
[Nor shall I be longing for things the greedy flaunt]

He makes me lie down in green pastures,
[Where I can release life's many pressures]

He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.
[Then reminds me He's still God and I'm not in control]

He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
[He brings me back to His road when the other paths I take]

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
[And intentionally or otherwise be short or run out of breath]

I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
[And I will not I fret or fuss or worry]

Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
[They keep me where I need to be]

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
[You also prevent me from turning into one of these]

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
[Your love and kindness through me hopefully shows]

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
[Till the sun hides from day and the moon from night]

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
[No, nothing can top that ever!]

Prophetic Word for the Philippines

Posted on January 14, 2008 by mikemachacon.

This is the full text of the prophecy spoken by Cindy Jacobs over the Philippines…

The Lord would say to the Philippines… I am shaking everything that can be shaken so that no man can glory in what I will do. For I have waited for a generation that I could raise up a purity and a holiness in. And I am raising up firebrands! There is a forerunner anointing coming upon the youth of the Philippines that will prepare the way of the Lord, even into the Middle East . Look and see what I will do in Mindanao . For I am going to visit in a way that you cannot imagine! I am coming to Mindanao, says the Lord, as God and the Lord of Hosts, and I am going to start appearing. As a sign that I am going to truly change the nation, I am going to show Myself to the guerilla leaders. I am going to come, says the Lord, and I am going to begin at the places in the Philippines that have been the bloodiest, the places where the guerillas, insurrection have been the strongest.

And I am going to come with signs and wonders and miracles! I am getting ready to pour out a miracle anointing upon the Philippines such as the earth has never seen! For Indonesia , they had a mighty rushing wind. But in the Philippines they will have the fire from heaven that will begin to fall! And this will be a purging fire! And I will say, I will visit even as if in a day, says God. Do not think that I am not able to come in a day and begin to unravel the iniquities of the nation, says the Lord! I am going to visit the military. I am getting ready to come among the young in the military. And the Lord says, there’s going to be a revolution of righteousness that comes within the military. I’m getting ready to dethrone everything that needs to be dethroned, for even the bowls of heaven are full. Oh, I see the bowls in heaven are just getting ready to be tipped over the Philippines and I am going to spill out my glory!

And the Lord says, I will remove the shame that Satan has tried to put upon this nation! And the Lord says, look and see, for even the blood of the martyrs cries out from Saudi Arabia! The blood of the martyrs cries out from those Islamic nations, and my Filipino people that have laid their lives down. Do not think I haven’t seen it! Do not think I am looking away! Do not think I do not see you! Do not think I do not see you, Philippines , for I see you! You are the apple of my eye! You are a treasure unto me! This is the day and this is the hour when I begin to change everything, says the Lord! I’m going to change the judicial system. I’m going to dethrone corrupt judges. I’m getting ready to deal with the police force. I’m going to expose, expose, expose, expose!

And the Lord says, look and see what I will do! For I will open up my treasure chest from the Philippines ! And I am going to release finances for the Philippines that will surprise and shake even Hong Kong ! For I am getting ready to move a distribution of wealth, says God. And I am getting ready to open the oil! I am getting ready to open that which is in the ocean! I’m getting ready to bring forth a revolution even in the economic systems, in the finance systems!

Look to the university in Manila , says God. For I am going to bring a revival that the… Oh my Lord!… the Lord says, not hundreds, but thousands and thousands and thousands are going to get saved! The Lord says, can I touch a whole university? Yes, I can touch a whole university! I can come with My glory and I can come with My power in ways that you cannot imagine! For I am coming, says God! I am coming and I will remain, says the Lord.
